Bright Lip - Neutral Eyes Make Up Tutorial

Hello there! Today I'm going to share a rather simple make up tutorial that is suitable for everyday wear and evening night out :)

Since this is my first time doing it, please excuse if I've accidentally missed out some parts. Feel free to leave me comments to ask me about anything! Please click on the product names underneath each picture to purchase them online.

BEFORE

And of course I have to scare you with a photo of my bare face!

Revlon Photo Ready Foundation in Nude; Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki

MAC Eyeliner Brush 209SE; MAC Blacktrack Eyeliner

So I generally start with moisturiser/ sunscreen as a base and then foundation on top, blending it with the Sigma Flat Top Kabuki that I swear by. Fill in my eyebrows and then tight line! (Tight lining: Applying eyeliner to the upper water line). Tight lining helps to create fuller looking lashes.

Progression check!

Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Palette in Comfort Zone; Elf Eyeshadow Brush; Sigma E25 Blending Brush

Essence Stay All Day Creme Eyeshadow in 02 Glammy Goes To...

Use Essence Stay All Day Creme Eyeshadow as a base using bare fingers; Apply "Crease" colour (3rd left from top) all over the lid, "Definer" (Bottom right) on the outer corner.

Before blending..

A lot of people find eyeshadow application difficult and super easy to messed it up. With a blending brush, just lightly go across where the colour ends and blend it in circle motion. This will ensure flawless finish!

Blended and Eyeliner + Mascara Application

Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Felt Tip Eyeliner + Serum

Prestige My Blackest Lashes Mascara (Michele1218's fav!)

NYC Sunny Bronzer; Elf Complexion Brush

I dust the bronzer around the face in the shape of  "3" and also the sides of my nose for minor contouring.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Blush in Heather Silk

With the same complexion brush, I applied the blush on my cheeks! My apologies that this picture does not show up the colour correctly. In person this blush looks a lot brighter!

Finish off with Rimmel's lipstick (loves!)

Rimmel Kate Lipstick in number 12

Finish Look 1

Finish look with glasses!

Thank you for visiting my blog and please check back often as I update everyday! <3

Favourite Asian Drug Store/ Affordable Make Up

For some of us, access to Asian cosmetics might be easier than others. If you are one of the lucky ones, please take the opportunity to drop by an Asian cosmetics store to find the products mentioned below. If you are from Asia, you are able to find the cosmetics in your local drug store or designated brand outlet in your shopping mall.

The reason I have this post dedicated to Asian make up as some of us have difficulty to get cosmetics that compliment our skin tone. Asian brands are often designed to enhance our yellow tone skin colour and less defined bone structure.

Etude House Miss Tangerine Sweet Shower Lips Lipsticks

Swatches

Unfortunately there are no specific name or code listed on the packaging itself, but this line has about 5 colours in total. They are moisturising and gives a gloss like finish upon application.

Etude House "I Love Paris" Lipstick in number 3

Perfect nude lipstick for Asian/ Yellow skin tone! Ideal for everyday wear. It is non drying, lasting power is decent.

Water Strong W Eyebrow Pencil and Eyebrow Liner

FTTB: Pencil swatch; liquid swatch

Brows are the most annoying but also most crucial part of the face! Due to my sparse eyebrows, I've been looking for the ideal brow product forever. I've tried brow powder, brow pencil, eyeshadow and everything in between. Currently I'm using this product as it gives a natural finish and does not smear off if I accidentally touched my eyebrows during the day. The liquid part provides a semi-permanent stain on your skin, suitable for pool/ beach wear.

p/s: very difficult to find this eyebrow pencil. I purchased in while I lived in Japan. If anyone knows how else I can get my hands on more, please leave a comment :) Thanks!

Biore UV Aqua Sunscreen

This is an alcohol based sunscreen that provides a smooth finish to your face. I am a huge believer of sun protection and this product is good for the days when I like to have light make up on the face. It does not leave an oily residue, however if you are allergic to alcohol products on your skin, this is definitely a pass for you.

L'oreal UV Perfect Longlasting UVA/UVB Protector

I've used this product over 7 years. Although it leaves a slightly shiny finish, it acts as a great make up base for your foundation to adhere on it. It is slightly expensive but can be found in Duty Free zone in all airports.

Majorlica Majorca Eyeshadow in BE286

This particular colour from Majorlica Majorca is absolutely beautiful on all skin tone! The pigmentation is great and long wearing. One thing to note about Asian brand eyeshadows is that they are generally more glittery or shiny rather than matt finish.

Sweets Sweets Blusher in MP2

I purchased this is Japan for 720YEN in the local drug store. This brand is very affordable and has great quality. Usually I do not use the brush that comes in the palette but this one has served me well!

ZA Brightening 2 Way Powder

Last but not least, the ZA Brightening 2 Way Powder is what a lot of people swear by! You can apply it dry or use it with a wet sponge for heavier coverage. It leaves a very natural finish and provides medium coverage. I usually wear this on humid days as it stays put on the skin.

Thank you for visiting my website and stay tune for tomorrow's update!

Sigma haul and review (Paris palette and brushes comparison)

Since the launched of Sigma Makeup several years ago, there has been noticeable changes in the beauty industry. High quality brushes are no longer restricted to make up professionals, make up addicts out there are now able to access them and create beautiful looks!

Today I went to the post office and picked up my Paris Palette and 2 E25 brushes that I've ordered last Thursday.

Open Box!!!! Super excited ^.^

Comes with a lot of information about Sigma's products

Close up of the Paris Palette! Swatches below.

Upon open box I noticed that the black shadow was slightly cracked and very little bit has gone onto one of the blushes. The palette has a very distinctive paint smell which I hope that it'll go away soon. Brushes are stained with some stench too however overall presentation is still acceptable.

One thing to note! The Angled brush does seem like it's lower quality than the one in the Premium Travel Kit.
Premium Travel Kit (bought it over 2 years ago)

Here are some pictures to compare the brushes:
Both the brushes in the palette and the travel kit are protected by the plastic covers. Paris Angled Brush is noticeably more frayed out and the bristles are soft but less dense than the Travel Angled Brush.

The two E25 brushes are similar to the old ones however the quality of the handle also seems flimsy and unlike before.

In my box I also received a tiny sample of one of their shadows (dupe of Mac Paradisco)

SWATCHES!

All swatches are done without base and with the use of brushes.

Cons:
  • Pigmentation is reasonable but not amazing
  • Unusual paint stench
  • Slightly powdery but can be solved by tapping away before application
Pros:
  • Good value for money ($10 off code "Xteeener")
  • Great colour selection for travel

Sigma ships worldwide so check out their website if you are interested in the goodies that I purchased!

See you in my next post! ^.^
