Estee Lauder DayWear BB Cream Review

Hi there! Today I'll be sharing a quick review of the new Estee Lauder DayWear BB Cream in colour light. I've worn this several times during the past week in the crazy weather changes in Toronto, so I'll be able to give a quite comprehensive review base on their different climates/ humidity.

This foundation comes in 2 colours, Light and Medium. If you are not particularly light or dark skin tone, you'll be able to fit into one of the 2 colours.

Bare skin!

This is me, out of the bed in the morning after about 5 hours worth of sleep. My skin has also been slightly rashy lately and gets red very easily.

After BB cream

The BB cream's coverage is light to medium. You are able to build on more products but it probably will not be high coverage by any means. If you put too much, it will become oily and your skin is likely to feel uncomfortable (happened to me).

Complete look

Sorry for the awkward picture but this is the best I could get before running out the door! I did not set the foundation, it was fairly cool and moderate humidity today.

This foundation does not do well with humidity unless you only have one very light layer on. Setting it with powder will do little for extending it's longevity.

5 hours later

Make up is sliding down my face as time goes by. Damn you gravity! haha!

After 6 hours

Here is the close up of my skin after 6 hours of application. There was very little makeup left. I would say that this BB cream can withstand about 3 hours of wear without looking crappy.

After 8 hours

This is me when I finally got home after a LONNNNNG day. I'm glad that it's the weekend tomorrow and I get to have more than 5 hours of sleep!

The makeup is basically gone from my skin and keep in mind that I do not have oily skin and stayed inside the climate controlled office all day long.

Hi!

My hair was also getting very messy!

Clearly what's remaining is my eyes makeup and little BB cream. The product itself though never claimed to be long lasting. It would say that this is best if you have fairly clear skin, that way you don't need to layer it on. The 2 existing colour they have in their line gives a nice natural finish and does not have the grey tint that some other BB creams do.

As usual,

Pros:
  • Nice natural finish
  • Sun protection of SPF 35
  • Oil free
  • Apparently its high in anti-oxidant
Cons:
  • Very limited colour selection; Only comes in Light and Medium
  • Light to medium coverage, to get medium coverage could be too much and eventually makes the skin looks oily and feels heavy
In general I quite like this product and will continue to use it. Though I wouldn't say that it is more unique than other products out there in the market as the anti-oxidant claim is hard to judge. You can get this product at Sephora or your local department stores and drugstores.

Thank you and see you during the weekend for a YSL foundation review!

BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream Review

I'm sure everyone is super hyped up about the BB creams in the market. We are flooded everyday with more companies coming out with BB creams, especially from the western companies. Nonetheless, I still like to try out as many as possible and share my favourites with you ladies!!

Today I'll be reviewing the BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream.

BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream

I received this product from BRTC along with the Aqua Rush BB Cream. I decided to give this a go since I am able to test the longevity and how the product withstand heat in this hot summer day!

BEFORE

I've actually gotten even more tan from the last time because we went to the beach on Saturday! I applied the product using Sigma F80 Flat Top Brush.

AFTER

The product has a jasmine scent to it but not sickening. It is definitely too light for my skin now, just like the other bb cream. Though I would rather work with a foundation that is lighter than my skin than one that is way too dark.

Close up

This BB cream claims to have 3 main functions other than coverage, which are, skin whitening, wrinkle repair, and  water replenishment for your skin.

Upon application, I could definitely tell that this product is less nourishing than the Aqua Rush. Which means that this will be more suitable for you girls with combination oily skin!

I went ahead to apply the rest of my makeup. I did not set this BB cream with powder.

Complete look for the day!

We went out and about, including having a short stroll at Woodbine beach.

After about 5 hours of wear...

Close up after 5 hours

after 5 hours

It wasn't very humid today so I didn't have much problem with sweat or oil on the face. The BB cream has definitely worn off slightly but most of it is still on my skin. Redness is now showing through slightly around the nose.

Pros:
  • Suitable for combination to oily skin
  • Medium coverage
  • Light weight
Cons:
  • Limited colour selection
  • Slightly scented (Personally prefer face product with no scent.)
This is overall a great product and I would recommend it. You can get yours either at BRTC Store or Momomango

If you have any other product recommendations please leave a comment or tweet me at:

See you tomorrow!

P/s: I've recently been to an interview with Koo Creative and really looking forward to have a chance to work with them. Wish me luckkkkkkkkk!!!

Shills Natural Science BB Cream Review

Back today with another BB cream review! I bought this product a long time ago on SASA.com. You can get quite a lot of Asian beauty and skin care products on the website with free shipping over a certain amount of expenditure.

I've only used this product once and decided to move on from it due to one reason - the scent. It has a strong floral scent and it lingers even after it's applied on the face for a few hours. For this post I reopened it again and noticed that the scent has faded with time.

The BB cream itself has a strong grey tint, it oxidises to match your skin tone but I wouldn't expect it to be good for anyone with tanned skin or pink undertones.

Opening

The packaging of the product could be better. The aluminium (?) casing feels a bit like a tooth paste and the hole is inconvenient as it dispense too much product at once.

Swatch

A little product goes a long way! It has medium coverage and it can build to a heavier coverage if needed. Texture is decent and is it suitable for all skin types. I would set this BB cream if you want to extend the longevity.

Pros:
  • A little product goes a long way
  • Easy to purchase online
  • Medium to full coverage
  • Easy to blend
Cons:
  • Grey tint, not suitable for tanned skin or pink undertones
  • Scented
  • Limited colour selection
Personally if this product is not scented I would use it again. If you are in the market for a BB cream I wouldn't strongly recommend this although I know there are a lot of people that had good experience with Shills' BB creams. This is my personal experience and results may differ for different individuals.

BRTC Aqua Rush Water Drop BB Cream Review

I was contacted by BRTC recently and was lucky enough to try some of their products. Today I want to share my thoughts on the BRTC Aqua Rush Water Drop BB Cream. Keep in mind this is a first impression review, and I will have an update after some substantial use and possibly comparing it with other BB creams that I own. First an foremost, keep in mind that I have normal to dry skin, and results might differ depending on the individual.

Back

The Aqua Rush Water Drop BB Cream claims to be for dry and dull skin, creates water drops as is being rubbed (?), and revives the skin to be clear and splendid. It also has SPF 28 PA++ protection.

Swatch

Upon squeezing out from the tube, I realised that it is a rather thick formula, a little bit more than I am used to for a BB cream. However it has a plus side that it doesn't have a grey-ish tint that most BB creams in the market do.

I applied it on to my face using my fingers. It was slightly tough to blend out, similar to Estee Lauder full cover foundation. It could be easier with a brush, I'll have to try it out and get back to you ^.^

BEFORE

Close up of BEFORE

I've became a little bit more tanned recently due to the sun. I haven't been out purposely to make myself tanner, so it is just a gradual change during summer for me.

AFTER

Close up of AFTER

The coverage is medium in first application, but the colour wasn't right. It was too light for me but this will certainly work perfectly in the winter as it is quite moisturising. The BB cream does not feel sticky at all and it leaves a smooth finish on my face. I noticed that the BB cream started to oxidise to a slightly darker colour after 5 minutes of application but it was still not the right colour for me for now.

2 hours later

It is EXTREMELY humid today and the BB Cream is still on my skin 2 hours later. Some are definitely gone but still acceptable for this weather.

After 4 hours

BB cream is still on but I could definitely see some red spots close up. I would recommend setting this BB cream with a powder during humid days. I don't see the need to if you are in a temperature regulated environment or cooler/ drier days.

Pros:
  • Non grey tint, brightens up the complexion
  • Smooth finish
  • Not oily
  • Medium coverage
Cons:
  • Limited colour selection
  • Slightly scented
If you are interested, you can head to the BRTC Store and order one for yourself for only $28! BRTC products are also widely available in Asian cosmetic stores.

Please leave a comment if you have any more questions about the product!

Before

I applied and blend the BB cream using my fingers.

BB Cream application + Tight lined with Physicians Formula Eye Pencil

Use a blush brush to apply your favourite pink blush on the cheeks and complete the look with your favourite lip gloss!

Complete Look

Now the review for Skin79 Super + BB Triple Function Cream.

Skin 79 BB Cream

This product has a grey tint upon application, it will blend out to fit your skin tone after oxidisation. However it probably will not work if you have really tanned skin.

Close up

It will feel rather sticky on your face once you apply it, though after about 10 minutes it will feel very smooth and not oily. This BB cream claims to have benefits such as skin whitening, wrinkle free (?), and a SPF 25 PA++ sun protection.

Pros:
  • Light weight
  • Light to medium coverage
  • Smooth finish
  • Fragrance free
Cons:
  • Difficult to purchase if you're not in Asia, hence the price can be elevated due to the same reason
  • Grey tint, visible in pictures
  • Lack of colour selection
If you have any BB cream that you recommend or want me to try please leave a comment! ^.^
