I've chosen the 2 top HD setting powders to compare side to side. I have to admit that I don't use them so often even though I've owned both for awhile now. The purpose of these powders are to provide a flawless and long lasting finish to your face makeup.
I compared both under the natural light and with flash, in order to see how much they reflect light (how white your face will look). As a base for the powders to adhere, I use my usual moisturiser from Sibu and applied it with an ELF blush brush.
The moisturiser does not contain any SPF so it should not alter the way the powders are shown in pictures.
The bare eyes could not tell any significant difference between these 2 powders. However it does seem like the MAC powder is not as white.
1. MUFE HD Powder
I applied a generous amount and as you can see, in natural light it does not alter the look of your skin.
As you can see, it does reflect quite a bit of light and if you are going to take some night time pictures, there is no doubt that you might see a white face.
2. MAC Prep + Prime Finishing Powder
Again, under the natural light, these 2 products perform similarly and does not change the look of your skin under natural light.
The MAC powder seems to react slightly better than MUFE's with flash photography. Although still appear slightly more white than usual, it is less likely to have such a big difference with the rest of your skin in night time pictures.
I prefer the MAC Prep + Prime Finishing Powder over MUFE, it is cheaper and also looks better in camera. Both of the powders have similar lasting power and sets my foundation perfectly.
To end this post I would like to share Gossmakeupartist's video about some horror HD powder overdone pictures from celebrities.
